The mud house at Al-'Udhaibat palm grove was a dilapidated and neglected mud-brick ruin, much like many other historic buildings that have endured in Saudi Arabia. Originally belonging to the late King Faisal, it was later acquired by H.R.H. Prince Sultan bin Salman Al Sa’ud in 1988. Unfortunately, the house was in terrible condition—badly neglected and no longer maintained. Slowly fading from memory, it faced an uncertain fate. However, an ambitious restoration project aimed to breathe new life into this modest farmhouse. The entire process, including detailed documentation through drawings and photographs, is chronicled in this book.”
